Redmi Note 8 by Xiaomi is coming soon, General Manager confirms
Xiaomi and Realme are also showing off their 64MP camera tech this week
Since becoming a sub-brand under the umbrella of Xiaomi earlier this year, Redmi has brought some great value and value to money options in the smartphone market. In India, Xiaomi’s latest Redmi Note 7 series is selling like a hotcase, currently based on more than 5 million shipments alone.
Now, Lu Weibing, general manager at Redmi, has indicated that the company is working on the Redmi Note 8 and that it is going to be “much stronger” than the competition. Earlier, rumors were rife about the possible launch of the successor to the Redmi Note 7 in August, and Weibing’s comment only adds more fuel to the fire.
Redmi Note series is Xiaomi’s or MI most popular Mobile Series
The Redmi Note 7 series was announced in February this year and has become a very popular mid-range smartphone in India. With its successor waiting in line, we can see a bunch of upgrades when it comes to camera performance and processor. But none of those features are known yet.
Recently, Xiaomi announced that they will be bringing a Redmi smartphone with the latest MediaTek Helio G90T gaming chipset. Apart from this, we also know that the company is developing a smartphone with a 64MP camera sensor which is to be unveiled later this week. However, it is too early to say that we are going to get the Redmi Note 8 this month.
Also, Xiaomi’s arch-enemy in India, Realme, is going to unveil its 64MP camera technology on 8 August. Whether or not it makes a difference in the mobile photography space.
