Fight Pollution in the Metro Cities Through Ayurveda

 Pollution, now-a-days, is the biggest concern for the human. Day by day, it is poisoning our lungs and making the human survival difficult on the earth. The air quality is worse in the city. The air quality outside have came to such levels that it has become intolerable for the human to bear the pollution. Indoor air quality is in its worse state. Fighting pollution with effective methods is more important than any other task that we do in our daily life. People used to wear pollution mask in order to save themselves from the adverse effects of the pollution in the contemporary days but it is not possible to wear  N95 mask all the time and wearing the mask make us uncomfortable too. So, to find the effective remedies, we have searched all the possible options available in the contemporary times and we found that   nothing is better than the Ayurveda. The Ayurveda is the ancient method of treatment used to cure the diseases in India in the traditional times. The method of treatment can be found in one of the Veda, an ancient text in the Hindu philosophy.

There are majorly two organic ways that we can use to protect ourselves from the high pollution levels in the air. One is that we can improve our immunity or the second way is to improve the quality of air inside our home.

The Ayurvedic hacks that I am mentioning here will perfectly detoxify your inner body and make you ready to bear all the tortures of the cruel pollution.

Easy Home Hacks

  • Turmeric and honey

Mix one fourth tablespoon of turmeric in a half tablespoon of honey and take it every day before going to bed. This is a proven method that can build your immunity and strength strong enough to fight the foreign bacteria.

  • Ginger basil and honey

Take five drops of ginger juice and half tablespoon of juice extracted by the basil leaves and mix both of the components in the honey. Take this mixture on every morning without eating anything.

  • Jaggery

Jaggery is the most effective food item that really provide effective solutions in securing ourselves from the adverse effects of the pollution.

  • Neem leaves

The neem leaves have the anti-bacterial and anti- fungal properties. It boosts your immunity   while cooling down your body. It detoxifies our body and eliminates the impurities from the blood.

  • Ghee or clarified butter

Ghee or clarified butter is good for digestion and it is detoxifying in nature.  Omega 3 fatty acids are present in the ghee which has the property to support our immune system. The clarified butter is rich in anti-oxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. It boosts the alkaline environment in the body which prevents any diseases to manifest in the body.

Purify the Indoor Air Quality

Study shows that there are some house plants that can take inhale toxins from the air and purifies it. The plants including bamboo, Erica palm, money plants and peace lily have Anti- toxicating properties.

There are some other methods too that can be used domestically to improve the air quality inside our homes. Use of beeswax candles, essential oils including rosemary ,salt lamps, thyme, oregano, tea tree, lemongrass and cinnamon are some of the common basic ingredients that is used to purify the air.

Improve the Immunity of the Body

To make our body immune from the effects of the pollution, we need to supplement our body with a diet which in rich in antioxidants that can detoxify our body on daily basis. A correct diet is the master way to treat the effects of pollution on our body at their initial stage before it actually impacts our internal body system.  A healthy detoxifying diet must include these following nutrients:

  • vitamin C containing items: Amla, lemon, guava, lemon, berries, tomato, carrots, kiwi and apples
  • Vitamin E containing items: almonds, basil and cloves.
  • Beta carotene: coriander, Fenugreek, Lettuce and spinach.
  • Omega 3: Walnuts, shia seeds, flax seeds and clarified butter or ghee.
