One successive series of cricket is being canceled due to the Corona virus. Corona has also been killed in ODIs and Test matches between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Both cricket boards have decided to cancel these matches with mutual consent.
Pakistan Cricket Board was forced to cancel the ODI and Test matches played against Bangladesh due to Coronavirus. The Bangladesh Cricket Board had expressed its inability to go to Pakistan after which PCB decided to cancel it.
The Bangladesh team was to reach Karachi on 29 March where it was to play an ODI and then a Test match. The Test match was to be played in Karachi from April 5 to 9 under the ICC Test Championship. The PCB decided to cancel the match on Monday.
“The Pakistan and Bangladesh Cricket Board have decided to postpone the ODI and Test matches to be played in Karachi,” the PCB said on Monday. Now both boards will decide in future to get it done so that ICC Test Championship can be completed.
The first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was played from 7 to 10 February in Rawalpindi. The match was named by Pakistan’s team with an innings and 44 runs. Pakistan has also decided to postpone the domestic one-day tournament to be held from March 25.
Series suspended due to Corona
The last two matches of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa were canceled due to the threat of Corona. It was also decided to cancel the last two matches of the three-match ODI series being played between Australia and New Zealand. India’s first ODI to be played in Dharamshala was rained off, while Australia and New Zealand’s first ODI was held in an empty stadium.
The Indian Premier League, India’s T20 league, has been postponed to 15 April. The England team also returned to Sri Lanka without playing a two-Test series. This series was also canceled due to the threat of Coronavirus.
