Earlier this year, Tencent Games released another online shooter titled Call of Duty Mobile for Android devices. The game was released in a closed beta for selected participants and it brought all the popular Call of Duty game modes from PC versions in the past. We tried it during the closed beta and it came close to displacing PUBG Mobile as the ultimate mobile shooter game you can play. However, when the beta was pulled, many were left wondering if the stable version would hit the servers. Well now, we have an answer.
The official page of Call of Duty Mobile has announced that the stable version of the game will go live from 1 October. And this time the game will be available for both Android and iOS platforms. The game is developed by Tencent’s Timi Studios and is similar to the beta, it will be free-to-play for everyone.
For those in the unknown, the Call of Duty series is actively one of the most popular fighting games. The mobile version aims to bring the same gameplay style to players around the world with all the classic Call of Duty gameplay modes and maps.
“We’re offering definitive, first-person action experiences on mobile with signature call of duty gameplay in the palms of our hands,” said Chris Plummer, VP, Mobile at Activision. “We are going to introduce some of the best franchises, including Modern Warfare Maps like Crash and Crossfire, Black Ops like Nuketown and Hijack such as Maps and more than one epic title.
Battle Royale mode will be similar to the classic mode matches in PUBG Mobile, allowing up to 100 players to battle in an open map at a time. Similar to PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile can allow you to play in various modes such as solo, duo and quad-player competitions. The map will include land, sea and air battles, in which players will be able to rely on vehicles such as ATVs, helicopters and fleets. Players can also select the first or third person mode. And in the specific Call of Duty call, players can choose between any of the six classes.
Call of Duty Mobile will be a change for players who have been playing PUBG MOBILE for a long time. In our short time with the beta, we found that Call of Duty Mobile is better than PUBG Mobile in many ways, especially in relation to the gameplay style, graphics, and more. In fact, PUBG Mobile removed PVD mode from COD Mobile’s team deathmatch mode.
