The Delhi government announced relief for parents to pay school fees amid the Corona crisis and lockdown. On Friday, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that we had received complaints about increasing fees in schools and charging various types of charges including transport during the lockdown. Now the government has decided that any school, whether built on private or government land, will only charge tuition fees till the lockdown opens. Apart from this, no charge will be levied. The school management has been instructed to ensure timely payment of the salary of the entire staff including teachers. Earlier, Jharkhand Education Minister Jagannath Mahato had said recently that if the schools asked for the fees, action would be taken against them. Whereas the Maharashtra government has said that parents can complain if schools ask for fees during the lockdown.
Education Minister Sisodia said, “There were many complaints that when children are not going to school in lockdown then how can the school charge the transport charge?” No private school will increase the fees arbitrarily nor will it charge an annual fee or any other charges. As of May 3, there is a lockdown, so schools will be able to charge tuition fees every month. A child will not be denied an online class if he does not pay the fees.
CBSE said – States can give guidelines regarding the salary of teachers
CBSE told the states that the payment of lump-sum school fees, salaries of teachers and benefits related to stakeholders should be looked into. The board also said that states should issue guidelines regarding school fees and teachers’ salaries in view of the situation created during the coronavirus epidemic.
Divide the salary to the entire staff, including school contract workers, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to Delhiites to help the needy and to provide an advance salary to the workers during the crisis. In such a situation, the government has now asked all the schools in Delhi to distribute salary on time to all the staff in the midst of Corona crisis. Even if they are working on the contract itself. If the school management is short of funds, then it should take help of its parent organization.
Jharkhand government told private schools – Do not charge fees during lockdown
