Facebook messenger is used as a messaging platform by Facebook account holders to communicate from their friends and connections. Since, its first inception on the android and iOS market, it is gaining popularity at a remarkable rate. it has now become the primary choice of the Facebook account holders and the Facebook organization itself has launched the Facebook messenger app as their default app for messaging.
The Facebook messenger app is interlinked with Facebook and it enables its users to communicate via text, images, and videos. Earlier the users can use their phone number to sign on the app. But now, it appears like the Facebook messenger app, is gradually removing this facility of signing up in the app using the phone number. The users are required to sign up simply from their Facebook account to use the Facebook messenger app.
Facebook Messenger lets users sign up with just their mobile number. But it seems like Facebook is silently removing the feature and asking everyone to simply sign up using the Facebook account to use Messenger. As per the news that is moving in the media, Facebook has made its mind to remove the ability to sign up on the messenger using the phone number. The change is confirmed to be in existence soon by Facebook’s help center.
A media post describes that if a user is new to the Facebook messenger, they will need to sign up on the app by their Facebook account. The media post further explained that the majority of users were using their Facebook account for login and they just want to encourage this tradition on and to simplify the use of the app for their users.
On the other hand, the Facebook app clarifies that the users who were using the app with their numbers need not worry as this change will only affect the new users. The older users need not panic. Facebook is heading to remove the signup using the phone number on the iOS app in India. It is also in news that social giant Facebook is planning to integrate its messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram through one end-to-end encrypted platform earlier this year. This is an initiative taken towards accomplishing a bigger goal.
Integration of Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger is not an easy task to accomplish smoothly with the regulators. The Facebook company is planning to assimilate all these three platforms together by allowing the users of all these three platforms to connect with each other without quitting the other platform. Social platforms including Facebook is struggling with rising privacy concerns throughout the whole year.
