India and Nepal sealed their borders on March 15 due to the coronavirus, but Nepal kept Indians and India free people of Nepal and Bhutan from it.

But meanwhile, the border was completely sealed after a meeting of officials of both countries on Monday after the situation became critical due to the coronavirus. Nepal has also completely closed the routes coming from China.

Considering the increasing infection of the coronavirus, a coordination meeting of district-level officials of Indo-Nepal was held on Monday in the premises of SSB 43rd Corps outpost Kakarahwa in Siddharthnagar district.

In the meeting, the officials of the two countries decided that the fight against Corona in the border region would be fought together. In the border area, SSB and APF jawans will patrol and make people aware of cleanliness to protect them from the corona. This step has been taken after a corona positive patient was found in the Rupanadehi district of Nepal border area.

Kakrahawa, Aligarhwa, Dhangarhwa, Baja, etc. cities of Siddharthnagar district of India adjacent to Nepal have been locked. In these places, shops have been given an exemption to open only shops of essential things like ration, medicine, vegetable, milk shops. Authorities of both countries have also emphasized that there will be no black marketing of any item. It is being monitored thoroughly. On receipt of the complaint of black marketing, strict action will be taken by the administration.

Kumar Singh, SSB Sub-Inspector Mukesh Chaudhary and CDO Mahadev Pant from the Nepal side, SP APF Tejprasad Pokharel, SP Nepal Police Kumar Thapa, SP Investigation Naveen Raj Officer, CMO Rupandehi Rajendra Giri, administrative officer of the parent Thapa, Dharmendra Kumar, police inspector APF, SHO Lumbini God Karki, post-charge includes all people, including Kalidh Santosh Budha.

Lockdown in Nepal

Nepal also started implementing this on Sunday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for public curfew in India. Nepal completely sealed all borders with India and China for a week from Monday. During this time no person or any vehicle will be allowed to cross the border. No shops are open in the border area. There will be orders to open shops of essential commodities like ration, vegetables, medicine and milk between 1 pm and 3 pm. During this time people did not come from one district to another. All schools, colleges, gyms have also been closed in Nepal. Any other programs, including marriages, will also be banned. Inspector Dharam Kumar Thapa said that the outstanding legal proceedings will be taken against those who do not follow the government’s order.
