India completely banned the export of this drug, considered effective in coronaviruses. But in view of its demand from some neighboring countries, including the US and other countries badly affected by Corona, companies have been given an exemption to supply it to other countries. How high the demand for this drug in other countries can be understood from the fact that on Monday, India had indirectly threatened that the US could take retaliation if it did not supply.
Strong cooperation and goodwill in the international community
External Affairs Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said, “Given the way COVID-19 is spreading its footprint across the world, India believes that cooperation and goodwill in the international fraternity should be strengthened.” It is in this spirit that we have allowed other countries to expel their citizens. Given the widespread impact of COVID-10 coronaviruses, India has decided to supply adequate amounts of paracetamol and HCQ to its neighboring countries. Most of the neighboring countries depend on India for these medicines. At the same time, India will also supply these medicines to other countries badly affected by this epidemic. ‘ He also hoped that no politics would be tried on this issue now.
There was talk between Trump and Modi on Saturday
India’s statement came immediately after US President Donald Trump’s statement that he threatened to take action against Badel. Trump said in the press conference that, ‘I had a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday morning in which the supply of hydroxychloroquine was discussed. India has a large population and they have to take care of themselves but I hope they will accept the demand of America. India has gained a lot in the past by doing business with America. If India does not supply then it will be its decision but in the event of this, retaliation can also be taken. This is the first time the US President has threatened India of such retaliatory action.
Supply to two dozen countries including America
Foreign Ministry officials say that the decision to supply medicines to very important countries was taken before the US President’s statement and India will supply this medicine to at least two dozen countries other than the US. It has been told by the Ministry of External Affairs that attempts to create an unnecessary controversy over medicines and paracetamol related to Covid-19 are taking place at several levels. Like any responsible government, India is also trying to keep these medicines safe for its people first. For this purpose, some temporary steps were taken so that not all domestic stocks could be exported. But the supply and stock of these medicines have been properly assessed across the country and now the laxity is going on. The DGFT has relaxed the ban on 14 types of drugs on Monday. However, HSQ and Paracetamol are still kept in the licensed list. But it will be supplied to needy countries.
