During this, he said, “This rest is not at all wrong, because after the tour of New Zealand, the players had suffered mental fatigue, physical fitness and many injuries, which you cannot ignore.” On this tour, the team played a series of 5 T20, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests. ‘Lockdown welcome for players’
Head coach Shastri said that it is difficult to spend time at home in lockdown due to Corona, but it is welcome for players. He said, “There are many players who have played all three formats (Test, ODI, and T20). You may wonder what their condition will be. Especially playing Tests after playing T20 and all the trips together. We have made frequent trips since the World Cup. First traveled to the West Indies. After this, they played a long series against South Africa at home, after which they toured New Zealand completely. ”

has played 25 ODIs, 25 T20s and 9 Tests in England, West Indies, USA, and India since June last year after touring New Zealand. In all these matches, adding one day of practice, in 10 months, India was on the field for 154 days i.e. almost every other day. The Indian team played a series of 5 T20, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests from 24 January to 2 March on the tour of New Zealand. After this, an ODI was to be played against South Africa on March 12 in Dharamsala on 12 March, which could not happen due to rain. The remaining 2 matches in the series were canceled due to coronavirus.
