MediaTek has announced the MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor for mid-range smartphones. This processor works on HyperEngine Game technology.
There has been an increase in the number of mobile gaming lovers in the last few years. Due to high-end graphics games like PUBG, Call of Duty, smartphone maker companies are launching their devices with better processors. MediaTek, the maker of processors for smartphones and smart devices, has announced the MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor for mid-range smartphones. This processor works on HyperEngine Game technology. This new processor has been launched in the segment between the MediaTek Helio G70 and Helio G90 launched last year.
The MediaTek Helio G80 Octacore Processor CPU works on two ARM Cortex-A75 cores with a clock speed of 1.8GHz. It uses the ARM Mali G-52 GPU Clock which supports the 950Hz band. This processor supports 8GB of RAM. This means that it can be used for mid-range smartphones. It also does not support UFS storage. MicroSD memory cards are used in smartphones with this processor.
MediaTek Helio G80 Octacore processor supports 48 megapixels and a 25-megapixel camera. Additionally, it supports a 16-megapixel dual camera. Talking about the display, it supports the HD Plus display with a 60Hz refresh rate. There is no dedicated APU and AI accelerators in it. However, it supports features such as Google Lens. With its help, it can identify any object.
MediaTek HyperEngine Game technology was first introduced for the MediaTek Helio G90. It supports Voice on Wakeup (VoW), ES, rolling shutter compression and internal navigation engine. Talking about connectivity features, it also supports features like Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi. We can see this processor in the budget smartphones of Redmi, Realme, Vivo, launched this year.
