In addition to the monthly updates that Google phones get, Google has released its first “Feature Drop’ update along with improved call screening, Post-Snap portrait blur, and many more facilities. The feature drop is the new way of adding new features in the Pixel phones.
The new “Feature Drop’ update runs as a host for new features like portrait blur effect. Further, the new call screen feature in the pixel phones will automatically filter out the spam calls without even ringing the phone. In addition to it, Google’s video call app, Google Duo is featuring an auto-framing feature that is supported by a 90Hz refresh rate, and it is also featured to apply portrait blur in live video calls.
The brand new “Feature Drop” update for the Pixel phones, is designed to make the call screen feature on the pixel 4 phone more applicable. Google quote that the call screen feature is designed in a way to automatically identify the robocalls and filter them out by screening and enlisting the unknown numbers and detecting the spam callers.
If in case the robocall is not detected by the “Feature Drop”, then the phone will ring but the call screen will inform the caller’s id and the reason why the person or the company is actually calling you. The call screen feature is an in-built device feature that doesn’t require Mobile Data or WI-FI.
Another important feature that is in news is that the post-snap portrait blur feature is also have stepped in with Google’s “Feature Drop” update. Through this update, the users are able to add portrait blur effect even to those snaps which are not clicked initially in the portrait mode. This post-snap portrait blur effect can be used in the pictures through google photos.
Although the post-snap portrait blur effect is storming in the industry, we found that the feature is not yet in its full-fledged form as you will discover it when you use it. This feature needs further improvement to provide impressive results.
