Xiaomi’s beloved Redmi Note series is going to get a major upgrade with the launch of Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 on 29 August.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series has been the best seller in countries like India because of its peak value for money and powerful internships from just a few generations. For its 8th iteration, Xiaomi is bringing mass upgrades such as the 64MP quad-camera and the new MediaTek G90T chipset.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro specifications
The Redmi Note 8 series will be powered by the new MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. It is a gaming-centric processor that is considered comparable to the Snapdragon 730 in terms of performance.
The other main attraction will be the camera. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature a quad camera setup with a 64MP primary camera, with ultraviolet, telephoto / macro and the usual amount of common sensors. It is likely to be the world’s first smartphone to sport Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 image sensor. The regular Redmi Note 8 is likely to have a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor.
A recently leaked image of a TVC has revealed that the back panel of the Redmi Note 8 will be similar to the Redmi K20, with a smokey glass finish in green and white. On the front, we can expect a full HD + display at around 6.3 inches in size with a notch.
Other hardware specifications have not yet been detailed, but we can expect a 4,000 mAh battery with some level of fast charging via USB Type-C. A fingerprint scanner is also shown below the cameras in the teaser image and may have an LCD display without display. Both devices are also expected to offer NFC which will be the first for the series.
The Redmi Note 8 series will be unveiled in China next week on August 29, and will make its way to India in the coming months.
