  • Nikhil Gandhi is the head of TikTok India
  • TikTok App Removed from Google Play Store and App Store
  • 59 Chinese apps banned in India

After the TikTok ban, Tiktok has finally reacted to this decision. Nikhil Gandhi, head of TikTok India, says, “We have been invited to respond and clarify together with the relevant government stakeholders.” He has clearly mentioned in his reply that he does not share any kind of information with the Chinese government. Let me tell you, the Indian government ordered on Monday night that 59 Chinese apps were being banned in the country, soon after which the TikTok app was removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. While TikTok has been removed from the app store listings, users who already had this app installed on their phones can still use it.

In a statement issued by TikTok’s official social media handle, Nikhil Gandhi has confirmed that the process of enforcing the ban order is currently underway. Representatives of the company will hold meetings with government officials to discuss the matter and submit clarifications. Nikhil Gandhi says that users ‘privacy and security are primary for TikTok and there will be no compromise with users’ data. Even if the Chinese government makes a request in this regard also.

Gandhi said in his statement, “TikTok complies with all data privacy and security requirements under Indian law and no information of our Indian users is shared with any foreign government, including the Chinese government.” Also, if we are requested in the future also, we will not do anything like this. For us, the privacy and integrity of the users are the most important. ”

Gandhi also said that many millions of people depend only on TikTok for their lifestyle, including many of these first-time Internet users.

The deletion of TikTok from the App Store means that you will no longer receive any type of update related to this app. However, if you already have the app, you can use it but any new features and security changes will not be done in the future.

Apart from TikTok, the Indian government has banned 58 Chinese apps in India, including many apps like ShareIt, UC Browser, Shein, Club Factory, Clash of Kings, Helo, Mi Community, CamScanner, ES File Explorer, VMate. The government claims that all these apps were involved in such activities, which could pose a threat to the sovereignty and integrity of the country, security of the country, security of the state and public order, etc.
